Long time no see

She smiled, walking by his side; her hand brushing against his.

"Well, I'll believe you then," she smiled "And anyways, it's not like I was expecting to see you standing at the door, is it? Not that I'm complaining..."

Matt let out a lazy smile and grinned. He was glad to see that not only did she like that they reunited, but that there was no reason for her to be mad at him.

"So what about you and the other girls? Not working with them then?"

Carys' smile faltered slightly, and she let out a small sigh as she walked alongside him "Well...Angel went off to university, and now she's working with Near."

"Soar is busy with L and the Task Force in Japan. I haven't seen them for a long time now. I've sort of been wandering in the in between since I left, and they left."

She shrugged "I'm happy to see you though. I really missed you."

Matt rubbed the back of his neck and leaned towards her. Despite her bad attitude and her rebel nature, her eyes were still beautiful. Grabbing her hand he tugged her towards him to pull her close.

"Tell me Car, anyone out there taking claim over you?"

She felt her face turn scarlet red as he pulled her into him. She shook her head quickly, trying to rid herself of that pathetic blush.

"M-me? N-no, Matt, no one." She hadn't been this close to him in years now, and looked up at him, her cheeks still red "Why do you ask?"

Hearing her stutter made his Cheshire grin grow even wider. She was so lovely, and so perfect for him. Even better with age. Leaning forward he sighed.

"Just checking if I got a shot" he purred.

She froze, unable to tear her eyes away from him; her blush ever-present on her face.
She shook her head, shaking herself out of her daze, befire turning her face away with a small smirk on her face.

"Babe, you always had a shot. You still do." she looked back up at him, smirking wider.

Matt let out a wide grin and before he knew it, he couldn't help himself. Immediately he took capture of her lips. She was his first kiss long ago, in front of the lake at Wammys. She was so shy back then, both so awkward, but here it was different. He was an adult, and Carys was grown too. It'd been a while since he had her in his arms and god it was nice.

Matt caught her offguard. She hadn't expected him to crash into her like that. Unlike their first kiss, she wrapped her arms around his neck; and pulled him even closer, smirking into the kiss.
When she finally pulled away, she laid her head on his chest and slid her hands around his waist "Took you long enough."
